Two Single Brass and Opaline Wall Lights

in great shape and with age.

The company was founded by Hermann Kaiser (* 1863), who came to Neheim from Heddinghausen as a worker. He set up his own business in 1895 with a brother and a partner. At the beginning, the company focused on producing nickel-plated and copper-plated lamp parts for the existing lighting factories. The company was already exporting to China and Japan before the First World War.

After the First World War, the production of electric lighting fixtures was expanded and finally switched to this line of business. In the period between the two world wars, the company developed into one of Neheim's largest lighting manufacturers. The functional desk lamps by designer Christian Dell, which were produced under the name Kaiser idell from the 1930s to the 1980s, also contributed to this. The most widespread design classic model of Bauhaus lamps, which can be seen today in many German films set from the 1930s to the 1960s, is, alongside the smaller model 6551, the KAISER idell 6556 “for everyone” by Christian Dell.
